Our XL Anniversary Project is now underway!

If you were at Symphony Hall on Saturday 5 April, you will know that our 40th (XL) Anniversary Project was launched with a recreation of the 1784 ‘Commemoration of Handel’ Messiah, complete with horns and trombones. To see Symphony Hall so full was fantastic so, if you were there, thank you for your support!

The next phase of the project will see us renew our collaboration with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to explore the 1846 original version of Mendelssohn Elijah at the original venue, Town Hall, on Saturday 18 October.

Tickets for our 2008/09 season concerts, including Elijah, are not yet available but the dates and times are available here for you to download or add to your diary. More details, including the exciting soloist line-up, will be added soon, but if you want to guarantee that you do not miss any information about Ex Cathedra’s forthcoming activities, why not sign up to our emailing list?

Our XL Anniversary Project continues during the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons, and will see us undertake a third collaboration with OAE in November 2009, enhance our recording schedule to bring you some of the CDs you have requested, and commission some major new choral works. If you would like to support this project, please read about our Anniversary Angels appeal.
