Premiere recordings of 19 famous Monteverdi madrigals, sounding revelatory as choral works in sacred guise. Coppini, a friend of Monteverdi, substituted sacred words and published them "clothed with spiritual words so that it be equally commendable to God and to his saints in churches." The result is a set of glorious 'new' Motets, marking another triumph for Ex Cathedra in its 6th ASV release.
